Re: Shinkenger 43 released (HD up)
hmmmm, could be the deinterlace, might have to try a different one designed for what I'm doing with these raws
The HD raws that currently come in are 1280x720 h.264 29.97 fps, bit of a funky ass set up
When processing them I convert the fps down to 23.97 to make it a more stable encode, plus it syncs it up with the scripts that we have already which are timed to 23.97 fps, trying to convert the the script to 29.97 is far more complex than changing the video fps,
Ill do a bit of reading into ITVC and see if I can find a better AVS filter for doing the work that we are doing on these encodes

i kinda think you guys should stop using these encodes and stop doing HD until we find stuff that alot better that this. i know i said it was better than nothing but SD is better than this. plus i can't stand the abc watermark on every frame and that jumpyness of the picture so i'm gonna stop with the HD shinken until we get our normal encodes back or the hunters find something just as good or atleast better than this.
If you dont like it, dont watch it, your getting this for free, FYI I'm the one hunting the raws, and there is nothing out there at all, these HD encodes are as good as they get at the moment, so if you dont like the quality of them, dont watch them, simple as, other people will be able to deal with the water mark, heck its on near enough every freaking channel in america, should quite ya moaning about it.

BTW i find it odd that shinken and rescue fire are affected by this but double isn't. must be a different guy doing it so hopefully that means that if the same guy does shin and rescue fire that he just went on a vacation, it's not the one site effected by people with LIVES.
Quite simple really, the regular japanese encoder, who does the 3 main shows has disapeared, we dont know why, we dont know if he will return W on the other hand has a secondary encoder who produces encodes which are equaly to those of the normal encoder, that person just doesnt deal with the other two shows,
So all in all, unless your going to move to japan and cap the shows for us, quit moaning about the encodes we do have, otherwise we might just ditch HD all together,

23.97fps is the way to go since the show is literally filmed at that rate, so there's nothing wrong with that. Of course getting it there from an interlaced source is the real bitch (assuming that the raws are actually interlaced, and not coming deinterlaced through quick & dirty blending), so kudos for doing what you can.

Re: Status of HD encodes
OK, been checking out some stuff,
seems the deinterlacer i have for the standard raws is fine for what it needs to do, (they are 23.97) but for the 29.97 raws, I need to use a different deinterlacer, most places recomend TIVTC, so Im gonna run a test and see what that comes back with, failing that Decomb ITVC seems to be everybodies second choice for Inversing the Telecine

Also try to upgrade CoreAVC if you used it, I know at one point that people using old versions of CoreAVC were having problems watching stuff that were encoded with new versions of x264.

As people can probably tell, the HD problem is now affecting every show we work on. Short of getting someone to do HD cap for us, there's not much we can do

I think that whatever you did on Shinkenger 43 worked well. it didn't look 100% as good as what you were doing before, but it looked good enough. It was still worlds better than the SD. So, I say, keep doing what you were doing with Shinkenger 43. It worked.

Then don't download the HD format. No offense, but what a useless comment

if you read the thread, you might see the reasoning why there is no HD, its not that we have stopped, its the HD cappers that have stopped

Re: Status of HD encodes
hi, i'm new here..
i'm very like the quality of HD .. and just wait for HD quality for my favourite kamen rider & sentai
whatever happened, i will wait for quality HD.. (last time i downloaded kamen rider W 15 HD & shinken 43 HD)
for me, i like HD than SD it's because the HD was much detail & sharp in quality of pict & text..
so i'll keep wait the next episode in HD..
good luck tv-nihon crew & team.
