A fitting final showdown between Fire-1 and Joukaen

What a tragic end to Joukaen, easily the best character in this series

Easily one of the best episodes of the series, complete with betrayal, death-wishes (I'm looking at you Tatsuya), and a robot-lion trying to bite you in half.

A total 180 from what I thought about Joukaen and I felt that while the episode still had its feelings of "OMG, friendship and tomodachi shall save the day", it was still a great building episode for the bad guy. And, wow...it wasn't just his face that changed, I'm pretty sure that's new armor on his chest as well. Awesome.

It will take awhile for me to adjust to the new Don Kaen voice, unfortunately. We need our R-R-R...Rampage back.. .-.

It's kind of cool that they made a new face for Joukaen just for a 5 minute scene. Considering the powered up three commanders have almost no visible difference, that was a nice touch

Well, I really think that even though it was a stretch to imagine any of the Jokaen to be fighting along with the humans for peace, his overall change and desire through this episode really brought it closer to the viewer, I believe.

And, to have the pretty obvious admittance from Don Kaen that he was the one who set up Joukaen to be sealed away, actually was still quite a shock (for me anyways) even though it shouldn't have been. Joukaen, fighting his all in his "actual" revenge against the one who set him up, was brilliant, even if it was over all too soon.

And yes, I think it showed that Joukaen was truly the Jokaen commander who could have tried to make peace with the humans after all.

Also, is it just me, or do the "Water/Orb" Dragons now make more sense after seeing Don Kaen's true form?

Man, the end was such a twist, truly a sad ending for one of the coolest villains (or should I say anti-villain?). I have to say the Majin Joukaen design and armour was pretty cool.

gotta say joukaen was a damn good character, can't really call him a villain now, even to the very end. farewell joukaen. lol on Quske good tatics there with GaiaLeon. Kind of fitting joukaen's blue orb's affinity "Sadness" as that's what was all in is heart. Oh yeah i forgot about those blue orbs what are they for again?

This episode was pure win. I find it very weird that you guys promoted Abaranger with this release. Both this episode and aba's episode used the same line. Moth attracted toward flames.

Qsuke reminds me of R2D2 when he accessed the main computer.

The resulting rain from FirePhoenix's neutralized attack was a great visual.

I really liked how Joukaen's past relates to Don Kaen. It ties everything together while building up the suspense for Don Kaen's return.

I wonder if Joukaen will return. This twist kind of implies that in the future, human beings and Jakaen could actually co-exist. What better person to lead the peaceful Jakaen than Joukaen himself. I doubt the Three Commanders are capable of that.

Besides, everyone knows that falling into large bodies of water lava isn't really that big of a deal…

Plus these guys are fire. Water is what would kill them, not fire.

I think he's dead. They even pulled the trope where "he's going to die anyway" with his feathers falling out and stuff.

Joukaen, we will miss you but I hope that you do come back though. I wish that they could not play the ED for that episode especially with Joukaen sinking into the magma. It ruined the mood.

Yeah that's one of the reasons I was really against the new ending when it first came out. Joukaen is dying, having failed to exact revenge on the one who betrayed him, he sinks into the lava, calling out the name of his friend in his last moments...then we get a super happy ending with everyone dancing! Blargh.

It was still one of the best episodes. Oh Three Commanders, you so dumb. I did like how Qsuke adopted their speech habits to try and further trick them, that was nice.

Oh, god that was annoying. Having this dramatic moment then the damn happy song and hands fly up. You go WTF.

I think that's usually where the second/third commercial break occurs
