Our late donation drive

So our usual disclaimer, fansubbing is a hobby for our group. We don't do it for profit and most of us have jobs and other stuff going on. But if you don't mind a little wait and enjoy our style, we'd love it if you can help offset some of the costs of this hobby

Our goal this time is $662:

  • 135 for a seedbox
  • 240 for the server
  • 247 for source material
  • 93 for computer replacement parts
  • -52 from donations throughout the year

Anyway, I'll leave this up for a week. If we make it, we make it. Otherwise it's no big deal. You can donate from our Paypal link, but e-mail if you want to pay using a different method and I can see if I can arrange something. Thank you for reading!

The Wo versus O distinction?

A viewer wrote in an e-mail asking why we tend to use Wo over O in karaoke lyrics.

Here's my response:

I mean, both wo and o are used interchangeably, but if you notice, the Japanese wo is pronounced a more in front part of the mouth. If you say O like in English, that's said more from the throat like "Oh!". That's why it's wo instead of o. As far as I know, Wo isn't used in modern Japanese words? Just people who are intentionally trying to be quirky.

I hope that makes sense. Let me know if it doesn't or if you disagree on any of the points.
