Samurai Sentai Shinkenger

Thought this was funny, so I figured I'd share this with you. This happened while I was outside during my break at work. I was reading my Shinkenger manga when a guy comes up.

"Hey, which one is that? Is that Kamen Rider? Which one is that?"

So I have a mouth stuffed with crackers at this moment. I'm desperately trying to chew it up and swallow them so that I can give the guy a decent answer.

"Oh, it's Power Rangers isn't it?"

Finally able to answer, I respond, "Yeah, it's the Japanese version of Power Rangers."

His response was, "Oh! I thought it was a mix between Kamen Rider and Ultraman. I hadn't seen that one. So it's Power Rangers." And then he left before I could ask him which Kamen Rider he'd seen.

So... weird! A guy who knows Kamen Rider and Ultraman, but not Sentai. Even funnier, he looked at the Shinkenger and didn't immediately go "Zombies!" No wait... "Power Rangers!" I mean, let's face it, all Sentai/Power Rangers looks the same. I don't know if I'd ever look at a Power Ranger and go "Is that a Kamen Rider?"

Now I wonder what Kamen Rider shows he's seen. Seeing him walk away, I feel disappoint that he left before I could quiz him on that. Anyway, if you're that dude and you watch our subs, maybe post a response on the forums?

Interestingly enough, this word doesn't have a kanji associated with it in my dictionary

About #TV-Nihon I added a section to talk about honorifics and other important Japanese words to know. The wiki has a pretty good article about this too though. If you like Japanese culture, you should definite read them.

Hopefully this will fix the issues that people have been having with it.

New series Daimajin Kanon So this is going to be a joint project between us and Skewed Studios. It's a toku show with some really great music and a more adult feel. Hopefully this will turn out to be really great
